Labynkyr Lake
Labynkyr Lake ((ロシア語:Лабынкыр), ) is a lake in Oymyakonsky Ulus, Sakha Republic, Russia.
The lake is located near the borders of Khabarovsk Krai and Magadan Oblast. The surface area of the lake is 61 km² and is 1020 meters above mean sea level. It is 53 meters deep.
As told by legends, Labynkyr Lake is a place of a dreadful monster.〔(Labynkyr Lake )〕〔http://www.livescience.com/26836-lake-labynkyr-devil-vorota-monster.html〕 The Russian media has reported evidence of a large monster there. In 1999, the cryptozoological media group Kosmopoisk supposedly made an expedition to the remote lake in search of evidence of the creature.
